Our real estate market is quite seasonal, and this year is no exception. During summer and fall, our market is the most robust, and during winter and spring we are the slowest.

• Currently, our active listings in Tahoe Donner for houses are at 63, which is almost half of the number we had during summer.
• Tahoe Donner Condos/Townhouses number 11, which is less than half of what we had listed during summer.

We will likely reach our lowest number of listings during late January.

• From January through May 31, 2014 we sold 67 cabins; June 1^st till now we closed on 109 cabins.
• For Condos, we sold 18 in the first 5 months; in the last five months we closed on 26 condos.

It seems that our condos had the best price improvement during the summer with close to 10%; while cabin prices appreciated 2.5%. I will wait for the End of the Year statistics in order to complete the full year sales data.

The Ski Resorts intend to open prior to Thanksgiving. With the long range forecast continuing to suggest a dry start to the ski season, it is very likely that it will be on man-made snow. Northstar opened on Friday, Nov 21^st, while Squaw, Alpine, and Sugar Bowl all say they will open the day before Thanksgiving. Boreal has been open for several weeks with one short run available for the enthusiasts.

 If you are up here for Thanksgiving and you do not feel like cooking, The Lodge’s Restaurant will be open for a Special Buffet from 2:00 till 7:00pm.
